Since 7th October, Ania, along with the nationwide campaign called the YOUNG BOOK LOVERS (ZACZYTANI), have been involved in the activities, aimed at inspiring smiles on the faces of the young patients of the J. Gromkowski Specialist Hospital in Wrocław. The aim of the Young Book Lovers campaign is to create a range of widely available, public libraries in hospital children’s wards all over Poland. They have already managed to open libraries in 5 hospitals and now they are going to open another one in Wrocław. Thanks to the campaign, each young patient is provided a book at the beginning of treatment. Then the children and teenagers can take their books home so that they could help them forget their illnesses. The campaign also aims to encourage young people to take an interest in reading books and appreciate literary texts. Anna Komorowska, the wife of the President of the Republic of Poland has become the Honourary Patron of the Young Book Lovers Campaign, but it is also supported by publishers, bookshops as well as individuals. As a matter of fact, everybody can contribute to the campaign by donating a book or raising money from friends. All details concerning the campaign are available on the website www.zaczytani.org. Please also watch a TV coverage of the opening of a new library in Wrocław, with Ania Wyszkoni’s participation, in the Monday edition of the programme called Good Morning TVN.
